Local Footpath Officers (LFO)

An LFO is a very important role in the Ramblers organisation. Each area needs LFOs who monitor the group's parishes with respect to the footpath network – diversions, closures, etc. The planning people have to consult us when thinking about any such change, and it’s the LFO who will consider it and maybe even object on behalf of the Ramblers Association.

If you fancy doing something pro-active in protecting our footpaths, and putting something back into the organisation, this could be for you. There would of course be an induction/handover period from the people with a wealth of experience that we have in post already.

We really encourage you to think about this: to keep our footpaths alive we really need to develop a small team of LFOs. If you’re at all interested please use our Contact Form for Information.
